Prof. Kiran Sontakke founded Dnyansadhana Pratishthan in 2002 to do something different in education. Schools had looked only at marks, and so they produced examinees rather than educated young people. Having seen the harm this did, he set out to develop every child physically, emotionally and socially as well as academically, and tried many experiments to get there.
From that sapling the trust has grown into a banyan tree: schools, junior colleges, a NEET & IIT foundation, colleges of pharmacy and management, and a girls' hostel, at Dharmapuri, Mandakhali and Parbhani.
“ज्याला जे येत नाही त्याला शिकवते ती शाळा म्हणजे ज्ञानसाधना प्रतिष्ठान!”
Every child is admitted
At admission we hold a test in Mathematics, English, Science and Reasoning. Whether a child scores 0 or 50 out of 50, we admit them. The test tells us, through a psychological study of each child's ability and knowledge, what kind of support and surroundings they need. That is why our bright students reach the top, and students who were behind gain confidence and do well too.
Beyond the classroom
Elocution, essay writing, poetry recitation, cricket, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and many other competitions run throughout the year. In recent years our students have shone in sports at divisional, state and national level.
From school to a professional degree
Students of Class 11 and 12 get separate lectures for NEET and JEE. In 2016 the trust began pharmacy education with the Dnyansadhana Institute of Pharmacy (D.Pharm), and in 2018 it established the Dnyansadhana College of Pharmacy (D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm), so that science students can continue to professional education on our own campus. The trust also runs an MBA college.
The College of Pharmacy is approved by PCI, New Delhi, AICTE, New Delhi and DTE, Mumbai. B.Pharm and M.Pharm are affiliated to DBATU, Lonere, and D.Pharm to MSBTE, Mumbai.
